How to Connect to OctoVPN via OpenVPN

Requirements:

• OctoVPN subscription
• OpenVPN Connect (v3) installation file
• OctoVPN configuration file

Step 1: Download and Install OpenVPN Connect

1. Go to the OpenVPN website to download the OpenVPN Connect v3 client for Windows.
2. Locate the downloaded installation file and double-click to open it.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install OpenVPN Connect on your Windows PC.
4. Once the installation is complete, launch the OpenVPN Connect client.

Step 2: Download the OctoVPN Configuration File

1. Log in to your OctoVPN account on the OctoVPN website.
2. Navigate to your Active plan located on the Services page.
3. If you are on a Public Server plan, select the OpenVPN button on the specific location and download either the UDP or TCP file. If you are on a Private Server plan, select the OpenVPN Configs button on the top right of the screen and download either the UDP or TCP file.
4. Save the downloaded UDP or TCP file to a location you can find later on your device.

Step 3: Import the Configuration File into OpenVPN Connect

1. Open the OpenVPN Connect client.
2. Click on the "Import Profile" button.
3. Select "File" as the import method.
4. Browse to the location where you saved the OctoVPN configuration file and select it.
5. Click "Open" to import the configuration file.

Step 4: Enter Your Login Details

1. After importing the configuration file, you will be prompted to enter your OctoVPN login details.
2. Enter your OctoVPN username and password provided on your Active plan.
3. Click "Connect" to establish a secure connection.

Testing Your Connection:

• Verify that the OpenVPN Connect client shows a successful connection.
• Open a web browser and navigate to a website to ensure you have internet connectivity through OctoVPN.
• Use an IP lookup service to confirm your IP address matches the OctoVPN server location.
